Coz is almost like the perfect storm of diving wonders. First off, it has spectacular diving for all skill levels. So whether you’re looking to log your 5th dive or 55th dive, you’re still going to love Cozumel. The island has so many different varieties of dives to choose from. There are over 36 dive sites to choose from—yep that’s right—you might want to plan a couple trips to this diving gem!
The next wonder of Cozumel is the visibility: 80 to 100 feet of crystal clear deep blue on average! Oh, and the water is usually around a comfortable 80 degrees Fahrenheit (27 degrees Celsius).
Did I mention that you’re just off shore of a gorgeous tropical island in the Caribbean? It is just a spectacular destination. The boat ride over the stunning aqua-blue water is nearly worth the trip on its own!
Speaking of boats, all dive sights are easily accessible and can be reached within an hour or so, which is very convenient. There are a few spots on the southern tip of the island that definitely need the wind, waves and current to cooperate or you won’t get there. But you don’t have to travel long distances to hit these awesome dives!
You may wonder though, what will you be seeing? All these factors are nice, but what’s actually in the water?
You are exploring 2 large reef systems which are home to teeming schools of fish and amazing coral and marine life! There are over 500 species of fish, lobster, turtles, sharks, rays, dolphins, and the list goes on and on.
The reef has amazing swim-throughs for the more adventurous diver, but amazing beauty and scenery for all. There’s an astonishing underwater world waiting to be explored!
