Seaside dining at almost any point along Cozumel’s western coastline lets you witness a spectacular sunset. But being able to enjoy the view with a delicious Italian meal with a nice chilled glass of wine–that’s not as easy to come by!
It can be difficult to settle on the ideal restaurant to spend your evening. If you’re looking for something less touristy but not too far off the beaten path, you don’t have to worry!
That’s Amore is an elegant choice right on the water. It’s not too fancy, offering a nice blend of casual fine dining and a Mexican-Italian menu. The Italian flair is obvious with charming table settings and wine glasses, but the restaurant keeps a beautiful simplicity for being in a breathtaking location on the island.
You have your choice of indoor dining with wall-to-wall windows allowing you to watch the sun dip into the Caribbean Sea. Or if you prefer, you can eat on the open-air patio and listen to the small waves lapping the shore and the boats buzzing back and forth.
When it comes to the menu, you can enjoy a variety of options. The classic Italian cuisine is delightful, you can’t go wrong with any of the pastas and lasagnas. If you’re craving steak, the cuts are excellent here, and the pizza is also tasty. You’ll find the wine list to be decent and very affordable. There are better restaurants on the island for seafood; we recommend sticking with the steak or pasta!
The restaurant opens daily at 4pm. It’s an easy 5-minute drive south of downtown San Miguel, on Cozumel’s main avenue of Rafael Melgar.
For a relaxed, romantic meal in a quiet setting with an unbelievable view, visit That’s Amore!
