Selvatica – A Jungle Adventure
Are you looking for some adventure and excitement during your stay in Playa del Carmen? How does this sound…
Picture yourself riding some of the fastest zip lines in South and Central America, or taking a deep jungle tour on ATV’s or on a Polaris side-by-side. When you’re done with that, clean up and cool off in the sparkling emerald water of your own private Cenote! (A freshwater sinkhole created by collapsed subterranean caverns.)
If that sounds like the adrenaline rush you’re looking for, then Selvatica is the place for you! You and your family will get to do all that and much more in an action-packed half day of adventure.
Selvatica is located west of Puerto Morelos (which is roughly a 30 minute drive north on the highway from Playa). The park is about 11 miles west on the “Ruta de los Cenotes”. It offers a shuttle service that will pick you up and drop you off, or you can easily drive your rental car there. It’s not hard to find.
This amazingly fun-filled park has earned several awards, such as the #1 attraction in Cancun on Trip Advisor from 2008 to 2013. Selvatica continues to grow in popularity. Something about being out on a sprawling 330 acres in the lush jungle gives you the feeling of being lost and at one with nature!
The aerial-adventure park offers several packages or tours you can choose from that cater to your specific wants and desires. Included in every tour is the cenote swim and lunch, along with other drinks and snacks.
TIP: Be sure to bring your bathing suit, towel, and GoPro. Pack a second set of clothes that you can change into at the end of the day in order to have a comfortable ride home, because you’re gonna get dirty!
