Riviera Maya Film Festival – 5th Edition
There’s more to Playa del Carmen than white sand beaches and turquoise waters, and the Riviera Maya Film Festival is an example of that!
For the fifth year running, RMFF once again offers a cultural experience in this beautiful region of Mexico.
This year, the independent film festival kicks off on Friday, June 24th and runs until June 30th. There are workshops, classes, and of course, world-class films at no cost for you to see!
Vacationers, visitors and locals alike can attend free international film screenings at both indoor and outdoor venues. Several cinemas have been specifically restored for this fifth edition of the festival. Most of the locations in Playa are right downtown; within walking distance from your vacation condo. (Visit the rmff official site for more info)
Have you ever seen a film outside under the stars, on a soft sand beach with palm trees swaying in the ocean breeze? Now’s your chance!
The main focus of this festival is on quality Mexican films. However, there are many countries represented: Poland, Belgium, USA, Philippines, Chile, Germany, to name a few.
One of the objectives of the RMFF guild is to provide attendees with a unique and memorable experience that also raises awareness on global issues. Documentaries, historical and biographic pieces round out the multilingual program.
There will be 59 different films showcased in Playa del Carmen, with 43 national premieres and one world premiere. Standouts will be awarded, with later select showings in Cancun, Tulum, Puerto Morelos and Isla Mujeres. But it all begins right here in Playa!
If you’re visiting the Mayan Riviera at the end of June, be sure to check out this cool cultural festival.
