Mayan Water Sports Complex
Coming soon to the Mayan Riviera is something entirely new, fun and exciting! It will undoubtedly appeal to any of you who feel bored just laying around on the beach. Maybe you parents with teenage kids understand!
Later this year, the Mayan Water Complex will be opening to the public. Located right on Federal Highway 307, this unique water sports park sits 20 minutes from the Cancun International Airport and 10 minutes north of Playa del Carmen. Construction progress is coming along very well and the target opening date is in October.
What are the feature activities at the complex?
Multiple fresh water lagoons or lakes will be set up with cable systems. (The cable system takes the place of a boat and allows more people an opportunity to ride and be out on the water.) Wake-boarders can hang on and be towed around the lake and over water features such as sliders, ramps, table tops, etc. For those who may prefer the traditional style of wake-boarding, there will also be a boating lake.
The lagoons will have water that is the same beautiful blue color as what you see in the Caribbean Sea. The only difference is that the lakes are fresh water.
At the park there will be lots of things to keep you entertained! You can also enjoy wake surfing, paddle boarding, fly-jets, diving boards, trampolines, climbing walls, and water slides. There will be beach areas for chilling and relaxing in between all kinds of activities.
No doubt you will work up an appetite or you might to guzzle something refreshing… The park includes a restaurant as well as a coffee shop for all to enjoy.
Water sports are so much fun and are a great way to spend your day under the Mexican sun. If you and your crew are looking for something new and exciting on your next trip to Playa, make sure to check out the brand new Mayan Water Complex!
