Best Eggs Benny in Paradise
Located in the quiet little fishing village of Puerto Morelos (which is halfway between Cancun and Playa del Carmen), this little gem of a restaurant combines a tropical atmosphere with delicious food.
The Eggs Benny are the way to go! My personal favorites are the Classico (75 pesos) and the Palta (80 pesos). Chef Pablo has the hollandaise sauce dialed in to near perfection!
Or you can choose from the classic Mexican dishes like Huevos Rancheros to Chilaquiles (some of the best I’ve had). They also will whip up an organic omelette.
If you slept in a little late and feel more like lunch, some delicious paninis are on the menu. But you better get there before 2pm because that’s when they shut down the kitchen!
Decorated with a touch of local ambiance and the feel of an art gallery, many paintings by local artists are displayed and available to buy.
Right on the corner of the town square, El Nicho is extremely easy to find and centrally located in Puerto Morelos (Ave Tulum and Rojo Gomez, if you need an address to tell a cabbie). They do only accept cash so don’t forget to bring your soggy dollars.
This great little restaurant sits less than a block off the beautiful blue-green waters of the Caribbean Sea. Stroll around the square, shop a little, or hit the beach after your breakfast. Don’t forget to wait an hour after eating to swim!
